| This
enchanting, rural retreat is set in the grounds of a country house on
the edge of the village of West Dean, on the borders of Hampshire and
Wiltshire.
This is a lovely part of Southern England with The New Forest only
8 miles away and the cathedral cities of Salisbury and Winchester,
Broadlands, Mottisfont Abbey and the Hillier Arboretum all within a 20
mile radius. There are many attractive villages with good pubs to
explore in the neighbourhood and lovely walks to enjoy in the
surrounding countryside and also between Romsey and Stockbridge by the
River Test, which is renowned for its chalk stream trout fishing.
Guided wildlife walks can be arranged.
The Hobbit House is an imaginative, highly attractive, small though
well equipped conversion, making the most of available space above what
was once a cart shed. Access is via solid oak steps with hand rail to a
covered porch.
