| Grebes
enjoys a superbly rural and peaceful location, its open plan upstairs
sitting room making the most of unimpeded views across two lakes and a
backdrop of deciduous woodland, which once formed part of The Embley
Park Estate (home of Florence Nightingale) and which are now part of a
200 acre farm, on which the owner breeds National Hunt race horses.
The farm is just 2 miles from the New Forest boundary and from the
small town of Romsey where you can visit Broadlands, home of Lord
Mountbatten. The historic, cathedral cities of Winchester and Salisbury
are both about 15 miles away.
This is the ideal venue for those with an interest in country pursuits;
there are lovely walks through rhododendrons around the lakes where
geese and ducks are frequent visitors and where you can arrange to
fish. Livery is available at the farm if you wish to bring your own
horse or you can arrange to use the outdoor heated swimming pool from May to September. There is also an 18 hole golf course and fitness centre next to the farm.
Grebes is to one side of the main house, quite secluded, not
overlooked and with its own parking. Inside it is light, modern,
practical and to very high specifications with planked oak doors and
oak flooring upstairs.
